Zwift Plus launches: €29.99, adaptive coaching and 21 real-world 4K video routes
Zwift’s new premium membership combines a personal training coach with real-road video riding. Is it worth paying an extra €10 a month? Here’s what Zwift Plus costs, what’s included, what isn’t—and what it means for Zwift racing.
By eCyclingRank editorial · Announced: 29 October 2026 · Updated: 30 October 2026
Zwift made one of its biggest announcements of the 2026 indoor-cycling season on 29 October 2026. Riders can now choose the existing Zwift subscription or upgrade to Zwift Plus, a premium plan costing €29.99 per month in Europe. The additional €10 unlocks two major features: Zwift Coach, an adaptive training planner, and Zwift Video, a collection of roads captured on real-world 4K video.
There’s one important distinction for racers: normal Zwift racing, the usual virtual worlds and existing community features remain available on the standard membership. Zwift Plus is an optional upgrade—not a requirement to keep entering races.
How much does Zwift Plus cost in 2026?
Zwift Plus is available for €29.99/month in Europe, $29.99/month in the US and £26.99/month in the UK. Standard Zwift remains €19.99 / $19.99 / £17.99 per month in those regions. For European riders, that is an extra €10 monthly, or €120 over a year when comparing monthly billing alone, excluding annual offers.

Annual billing has been reported at €299.99 for Plus versus €199.99 for standard Zwift in Europe, equivalent to roughly two months saved against 12 monthly payments. Taxes, subscription offers and local billing can vary. The practical value of Plus will depend on whether you regularly use its coaching and filmed routes.
Zwift Coach: training that adapts to your schedule
Unlike a fixed workout plan, Zwift Coach builds a schedule around your goals, recent training, fitness and available time. If you miss a workout, ride outdoors, have an unexpectedly hard day or need time off, the system can suggest adjustments instead of simply letting your plan drift.
Zwift says the underlying training model draws on sports science and anonymised cycling power and heart-rate information. Workouts are only part of the picture: a Coach plan can include routes, RoboPacers and suitable events, as well as structured sessions, reflecting the variety of activities many Zwifters already enjoy.
Set your goals and manage your plan in Zwift Companion. In-game guidance explains upcoming activities, while a new Coach Analysis section offers feedback after a ride.
Worth knowing: this is adaptive software-based coaching, not proof of improved performance or a direct replacement for a qualified human coach. Results will still depend on consistency and reliable training data.
Zwift Video is the headline-grabbing addition. Rather than cycling exclusively through rendered virtual worlds, Plus riders can explore filmed locations around the globe while keeping Zwift’s avatar, PowerUps, XP, Drops, segment leaderboards, HoloReplay and familiar pack dynamics.
The initial catalogue has 21 routes across six countries, totalling 385km. The collection includes France’s Col du Galibier and Cime de la Bonette, Mallorca’s Sa Calobra, the Teide area of Tenerife, Norway’s Lofoten Islands, South Africa’s Western Cape, Scottish Highland scenery and stretches of Utah and Colorado. Routes can be ridden repeatedly, so your workout does not have to stop at the finish line.
France: Col du Galibier (Lautaret), Cime de la Bonette, Upper Bonette.
Spain: Sa Calobra and Coll de Femenia (Mallorca); Teide Plateau (Tenerife).
South Africa: Chapmans Peak, Clarence Drive, Bain’s Kloof Pass, Du Toitskloof Pass.
Norway: Midnight Sun Road, Eggum Coastal, Nappvang Glow.
United States: The Hogsback, Arches National Park, Glen Canyon, Colorado River Sunrise and Dolores Dirt.
United Kingdom: Glen Etive, Quinag Highlands and Glen Garry Wilds in Scotland.
Zwift expects to add more destinations from early 2027. Its launch Globetrotter Challenge rewards riders who complete ten of the video routes by 1 February 2027 with a virtual kit and bonus XP.
Do you need Zwift Plus to race on Zwift?
No. Standard Zwift subscribers can keep joining the platform’s normal races. At launch, Zwift Video routes support free rides and cycling workouts, but not races, organised group rides, MeetUps or RoboPacers on those filmed roads. Zwift plans additional organised activities for the coming months.
For competitive riders, the immediate benefit of Plus is mainly in training variety, personalised guidance and exploring real roads. If you primarily care about Zwift races, performance data, rider rankings and planning your next event, the standard tier still does what it did before.
New Zwift subscribers can try Zwift Plus for 14 days. At launch, Zwift is also offering eligible existing members a limited-time free one-month upgrade. As promotions may change, check your account’s offer and terms before switching.
Open your Zwift account and review the available membership options.
Select Zwift Plus, then check your local price and trial terms before confirming.
Update Zwift and Zwift Companion to the latest versions.
Create a Zwift Coach goal in Companion, or choose a Zwift Video route for a free ride.
If the new features do not appear, Zwift recommends updating both apps, then signing out and back in. Video routes may also need additional storage and suitable internet bandwidth.

Zwift Plus vs Rouvy: what’s the difference?
The comparison is obvious: Rouvy has long focused on filmed real-world cycling routes and offers a much larger catalogue. Zwift Video starts with 21 filmed routes, but integrates them into the existing Zwift experience: avatars, segments, PowerUps, Drops, XP and community interaction. If route variety is your priority, Rouvy is worth comparing. If you want to stay in the Zwift ecosystem for its established races and social riding, Zwift Plus offers real-world video without leaving that membership—though organised racing is not yet supported on video routes themselves.
Our take: is Zwift Plus worth the extra money?
If you ride indoors several times a week, want more training structure and enjoy discovering new scenery, Plus is an interesting package. Coach could make training more manageable when schedules change, and Video offers a fresh kind of immersion.
But for racers who spend most of their time in established Zwift events, the standard subscription is still a perfectly reasonable choice. Video routes do not currently host organised racing, and a training system is useful only if it fits how you actually ride.
At eCyclingRank, we focus on helping Zwifters follow race results, compare riders and find events. That’s useful regardless of which Zwift membership you buy. We have not yet completed an independent hands-on test of Zwift Coach or Zwift Video; this report is based on the official launch materials and documented feature limitations.
