How to Record and Share a Zwift Race Video on eCyclingRank | Tutorial

eCyclingRank video tutorial · Riders, teams and creators

Recorded a Zwift race? Share the replay with the eCyclingRank community through the matching race page. Don’t have a video yet? This step-by-step guide also explains how to record a race and upload it to YouTube.

Good to know: eCyclingRank does not record Zwift races for you. Record your race with your preferred software, upload the video to YouTube, then submit its link on the matching eCyclingRank race page. Submissions are reviewed before appearing publicly.

Part 1 — Record your Zwift race

Already have a YouTube video? Jump to Part 2. Otherwise, here is a straightforward desktop recording workflow.

1

Prepare to record

Open Zwift and an appropriate screen recorder. One free option for computers is OBS Studio. Check that you have enough storage space before the start.

2

Capture the Zwift window

Create a scene in OBS and add a Game Capture source, or Window Capture if needed. Select Zwift and check the preview. Test your game audio and microphone settings before racing.

3

Start recording

Click Start Recording before the event begins. Recording at 1080p and 30 fps is a reasonable starting point on a compatible computer; adjust the settings if recording affects your game’s performance.

4

Stop and review the recording

After the finish, click Stop Recording. Open the resulting video file and check picture and sound. You may trim the intro and outro or add a title before uploading it.

You can also use other screen recording software or your device’s built-in recording feature. Clarity and being able to see the relevant riders and race action matter more than using a specific tool.

Upload your race to YouTube

  1. Sign in to YouTube Studio and choose Create → Upload videos.
  2. Select the file and write a descriptive title containing the event, date, category and race name.
  3. Include useful context in the description, such as route, start time and team name.
  4. Set the audience and visibility. To make review and embedding on eCyclingRank easier, use a public video with embedding permitted.
  5. Once YouTube has finished processing, open the video and copy its full URL, such as https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=....

Make sure you have the right to publish the footage, voices and any music included. Private videos or videos that do not allow embedding may not display on eCyclingRank.

Part 2 — Submit your race video to eCyclingRank

1

Find the correct race

Open Recent Races, search for your event and open its race details page. Confirm the event name, date, start time and category, as similar events may have nearly identical names.

2

Choose “+ Propose a video”

Use the “+ Propose a video” option on the race page to submit a YouTube replay for this event.

3

Paste your YouTube link

Paste the complete YouTube URL into the submission field. You can add an optional comment about your team, race category, breakaway, sprint or best moments.

4

Check the event and submit

Confirm that the video is associated with the correct race, then send it for review. Submitted videos are not guaranteed to appear immediately.

Part 3 — Where will viewers find your race replay?

Once approved, the video can appear in the race details under “🎥 Watch the race again”, with a YouTube player. Viewers can revisit the action and explore the race results, rider profiles, clubs and independent eCyclingRank rankings.

If you do not see the video right away, review may still be pending. An invalid or non-public link, embedding restrictions, or a mismatch with the chosen event may also prevent publication.

Help more Zwift riders discover your racing videos

Share a memorable attack, fast sprint, team time trial or complete replay, and encourage your club to contribute. This tutorial explains how to make those race videos discoverable through eCyclingRank.

Do I need a YouTube channel?

You need an accessible YouTube video link for this submission workflow. Videos are normally uploaded through a YouTube account with its associated channel.

No. Riders, teams and creators can submit relevant footage, provided they have the right to share it and select the correct race event.

What if my race is missing from eCyclingRank?

Double-check the date and start time, refresh the recent races view and check available historical races. Do not attach a replay to an unrelated event.

Can I submit other video platforms?

This guide covers YouTube links. Compatibility with other video hosting services is not guaranteed.

Will all submissions be published?

No. eCyclingRank may reject or remove submissions if they do not match the event, are inaccessible or do not meet the sharing requirements.
